The importance of Commercial Intelligence in Agroexports

In May 2019, Promperu published the Annual Report on AgroExports Development 2018, which highlights the excellent performance of the sector with a growth of 12% compared to 2017, due to an increase in the value of non-traditional exports, especially in the prices of the products of the line of fresh, frozen, processed and functional foods.

The importance of Commercial Intelligence in Agroexports

In terms of volumes exported in tons, exports increased by 14% compared to 2017. This was due to the increase in shipments of non-traditional and traditional exports.

In this regard, during 2018 the Promperú Agribusiness Department was present in 21 international fairs, 4 itinerant trade missions, 2 local trade missions and 8 business rounds, generating more than US $ 930 million in commercial opportunities achieved through 8 437 commercial appointments managed for 400 Peruvian exhibiting companies.

These results are aligned with a recent article by Luis Corvera published in Gestión Newspaper regarding the importance of commercial intelligence to find new markets. "... apparently, the difference between a successful company and another that is not, has to do with having commercial intelligence areas that provide timely information for decision making."
