The Export Route Award recognizes the SIPPO Peru Program

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur), within the framework of the National Strategic Exporter Plan PENX 2025, carried out the presentation of the progress results until 2018, showing positive figures among which are 1,250 companies that managed to venture into exports to the foreign markets thanks to the support of the Export Route System promoted by Mincetur and Promperu (Exports Promotion Board).

Likewise, it was highlighted that the best performance was registered by the agricultural and clothing sectors, in addition to the finding of new markets especially in the Asia Pacific area that is attractive for various exporters and to strengthen the European and United States market. It was stressed that the importance for Peru to venture into new countries that are part of the Asia region and unexplored market niches around the world.

Within the framework of the event, awards were given to various companies that have participated in the Export Route, among the winners we have Ecosac Agricola that was awarded in the North Macroregion category, while in the wood sector, Huayruro SAC Forest Industry was awarded (Inforhuay). Other successful companies were Kumara Foods awarded as a new company, Kemito Ene and Aicasa also stood out for their awards thanks to their excellent results.

Finally, the International Cooperation was recognized for its contribution to the Export Route, among which the Swiss Embassy, the Secretary of State for Economic Affairs of Switzerland (SECO) and the Swiss Program of Promotion of Imports (SIPPO) in Peru were recognized for their participation in the program. The Swiss Import Promotion Programme (SIPPO) is a well-established mandate of the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), within the framework of its economic development cooperation. As of 2017, SIPPO is implemented by Swisscontact, a business-oriented Swiss foundation for international cooperation and development. 

Swisscontact Lima office is led by Country Representative Jon Bickel in different projects that contribute with the Peruvian economy development focusing on the small and medium enterprises, a goal shared with the Promperu Exporters Route. SIPPO Programme contributes actively in capacity building, trade and strategic development for the future of the Business Support Organizations (BSOs) that drive business to the success in Europe and worldwide. 

It is noteworthy that SIPPO Peru has been working hard in the development of exports of processed foods and wood related to the Exports Route, which has contributed to the strengthening of Promperu getting more capabilities and improve their participation in processed foods trade fairs of international relevance as SIAL Paris International Food Exhibition, SCAE World of Coffee - Amsterdam, PLMA - World of Private Label Amsterdam.

SIPPO Peru team Carlos Hanspach (Country Representative) and Manuel Puma (Export Promotion Manager) are participating in the strengthening of capacities in processed foods, tourism and wood sector aligning efforts with the Export Route lead by Promperu. SIPPO is always focused on strength the BSO in the capacity building getting access to new opportunities in the international market.

With this award SIPPO Peru closes an excellent year of capacity building interventions in our partners Promperu, Adex, Perucamaras, Ocex, bringing them new opportunities and capacities in the international market.
